rascals rules of play
Like all happy fun places, rascals has
to ask you to observe a few simple rules so that
we may keep our special destination safe, clean and
enjoyable for everyone. Please take a moment to look
at our
rascals rules as
they form the condition of entry. You can also download
a PDF of these rules by clicking
here.
Adults in the rascals play area
Adults must remove their shoes before entering the
rascals play designated areas. Like the children,
adults must wear socks in the play areas for hygiene
reasons. (We promise we won’t look if they are
odd colours or have holes in them!)
Ages for rascals play equipment
Our rascals play equipment is recommended for children
12 years and under. Older siblings may be admitted
if accompanied by a younger sibling along with a
responsible adult.
Allergies
Please don’t make our rascals sick! We are very careful
at rascals to maintain our destination as a nut free
zone. Please don’t bring any of your own food into
any area of rascals.
Happy nappies
Due to hygiene reasons, we cannot allow any of you
to change nappies in public areas. We’ve put some
special baby change facilities in the rascals bathrooms
for you to keep those nappies happy.
Be nice to each other and our play equipment!
Because we want to ensure rascals is a fabulous experience
for your child and you, we have a zero tolerance
policy towards unsociable or rough behaviour by either
children or adults. Safety, and creating the right
environment for your child, is paramount so we will
ask anyone displaying such anti-social behaviour
to leave. Please don’t damage any of rascals equipment
and facilities. We will ask anyone doing so to pay
for the repair.
Casual play rates
What great value! Our rascals casual play rates allow
you to enter for a single play session. The great
thing is there’s no time limit for your single play
session but once you have left the designated play
area, re-entry will attract a fresh casual play rate.

Help us with cleanliness and hygiene
It’s really important to us that we maintain rascals
as a clean and healthy destination. Our highest standards
rely on our quick action to properly clean up any
accidents. We do ask you to advise us immediately
if you accidentally spill any food or drink in any
rascals area. Our rascals toilets and bathrooms are
inspected regularly. Please do tell us if your rascal
has an accident or if you aren’t satisfied.
Dress code
What to wear, oh what to wear…we recommend our rascals
are dressed in long tops and pants that aren’t made
of man-made fibres. Socks are mandatory in rascals
play areas but don’t worry if you’ve forgotten them
as we do sell them. We ask all adults to ensure your
child’s jewellery has been removed including watches,
necklaces, rings, chains, badges or any other beautiful
adornment that could include a sharp pin or object!
We can’t accept any responsibility for any articles
lost or damaged in rascals.
Emergency procedures
In the unlikely event that we have an emergency,
please follow the instructions of our rascals staff.
All emergency exits are clearly marked. Our designated
rascals assembly point is Myahgah Mews opposite Mosman
Council Chambers.
For those climbers out there
Our equipment has been designed to be played on from
the inside. For your child’s safety, it is forbidden
that they climb on the outside of the equipment.
Escorted play and supervision
At rascals, to maintain the safety of your child,
every child must be accompanied by an adult (aged
18+) and an adult must accompany a child. Supervision
of rascals parties must be on the basis of one adult
for every five children. Please ensure that you have
covered this ratio prior to entering into the rascals
play area. rascals rule is that children are supervised
at all times by the parent or responsible adult accompanying
them. rascals does not accept responsibility for
child supervision whilst on our premises or using
the equipment. We ask that you accept your obligation
and it is a condition of entry that you supervise
your rascals and any rascals in your care at all
times.
Food and drink
rascals does not allow any food or drink into the
rascals play areas at any time. We do not allow any
person, child or adult, to eat sweets or chew gum
whilst using the equipment. Only food and drink purchased
from rascals café may be consumed on the premises
external to the rascals play area. Food for babies
under 12 months who are still weaning is permitted
in the rascals café area.
Incidents
In the unlikely event that there is an incident,
please report it immediately to a rascals staff member
as we must record it in our incident book. To avoid
any incidents and ensure a safe and happy visit,
it’s important that you follow our rules of play
when using the equipment.
Liability
rascals Australia Pty Ltd does not accept responsibility
or liability for loss or injury of whatever nature
caused through misuse of equipment or lack of supervision
by a parent or accompanying responsible adult.
Smoking
We don’t allow smoking in any part of rascals café,
play, hair and parties’ areas. We will ask anyone
who is smoking to leave and no refund of entry prices
will be given.
Look after your possessions
Please take care of all your belongings as rascals
does not accept responsibility for the loss or damage
to any personal articles or possessions.
Slide code
This may sound strange but these common sense safety
rules are often forgotten! We ask you to ensure your
children go down the slides in a forward facing sitting
position. Pushing others or being pushed by other
children themselves is not permitted. rascals recommends
that children fold their arms to avoid touching the
sides and do not hold hands as people of varying
weights travel at different speeds. Once your child
has reached the landing pad with that happy grin,
please make sure they immediately leave the slide
area to avoid other people colliding with them. We
do not allow children to climb up any slides from
the bottom as they could be hit by other people coming
down.
For those sick rascals out there
It’s so tempting when your rascal is off school and
feeling unwell to take them to a place where they
can be entertained for a while. However, you as
parents and guardians are aware how easy it is
for your child to be infected by others. We don’t
want any of our rascals getting sick so it is a
condition of entry that your child is fit and well
when entering the rascals play areas. Please don’t
bring your sick rascal here and we’re sure that
you’ll understand when we refuse entry to any rascal
that is visibly sick.
